South East Asia Development Corp. Ltd. (SEAD) SEAD’s former affiliated company – Sino Electric Industries Co. Ltd. (SEI) - was founded in 1997 by a group of entrepreneurs in Hong Kong. The company began as a small trading and manufacturing business, primarily focusing on producing and selling electrical consumer goods and accessories. It evolved into a pan Asian IT and software development company through strategic investments, talent acquisition, and a commitment to innovation. The company’s success story serves as a testament to the power of adaptation and perseverance in the ever-changing business landscape.
Growth and Expansion: By the end of the 1990s, the company experienced rapid growth and expansion. The company established partnerships with various international manufacturers, distributors and retailers, allowing them to access new markets and increase their product range. Subsequently, by the early 2000s, the company had become a major player in markets like EU, UK, Scandinavia, Australia and South Africa.
Transition to IT and Software Development: The founders of the company recognized the growing demand for IT services and software development in Asia. They made a strategic decision to transform part of the company resources from a traditional trading and manufacturing business into a pan Asian IT and software development company. At the end this transition process, the company and all of its activities were consolidated and rebranded in SEAD. The company is still engaged in both sourcing and software development activities, which are operated under the same roof, but independent from each other.
